It's on my greatest privilege to welcome you all to come to experience Makassar and participate in the largest and oldest nationwide debate tournament in the country: 14th Indonesian Varsities English Debate (IVED). With the theme "Crush the Border", the organizing committee aim to improve the coverage and expansion of debate participation for all Indonesian varsity students. As we bring this platform back to Eastern Part of Indonesia for the second time, we expect this as a prospect to stimulate more differ range of universities involved. Within this effort, we have put forward an initiative to create a new, innovative breaking space for new debate teams, namely Novice Break which specifically designed for teams who have less or no experience in varsity level of parliamentary debate before.
Novice break alone, however, is just a small part of the next year IVED's ingredients. We will also offer you an immense experience of city tour to let you discover Makassar, unprecedentedly splendid socials, reliable adjudication system with highly committed Adjudication Core, and ah, all in an awkwardly cheap Registration Fee for teams who register faster. We have, we are, and we will work with our very best to present the warmest as well as most magnificent IVED, as how we did back in the year 2002.
Nonetheless, we realize that there might be some shortcomings in the process of augmenting the noble goal we have. But bearing all this shortages on our shoulders would certainly not circumvent our intention to provide you all the best service that we are able to carry out.
